Denver, CO, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — December 11, 2006 – M2M Data Corporation, an Internet-based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) company, and TransData, a global supplier of advanced metering infrastructure and wireless data telemetry solutions for utilities, have entered into a technology alliance under which the two companies will combine technologies to provide a comprehensive offering for customers seeking an enterprise-wide energy metering solution.
With this new alliance, created under the auspices of M2M Data Corp’s M2M Enabled™ program, Transdata and M2M Data Corp. will provide integrated remote energy metering solutions by combining the physical interfaces to their remote fixed assets connection via TransData’s MARK-V StarBurst meter with the iSCADA® web-based monitoring and data management portal. This combined hardware and software solution provides a more seamless and complete remote monitoring and M2M communications offering that lowers costs by simplifying integration and reducing ongoing cost of ownership and maintenance.
“The iSCADA portal service allows customers to perform real time control, data acquisition and remote monitoring, and also aggregate, present and store data from their enterprise assets, all through an easily deployed, secure and easily accessible web browser interface,” said Don Wallace, CEO of M2M Data Corp.
TransData’s MARK-V StarBurst is a revenue-certified electricity meter featuring a fully integrated digital cellular broadband module for real time two-way M2M packet data communication of metering data. It utilizes public cellular network infrastructure as the data pipeline to support online monitoring of real time energy variables and AMR for commercial, industrial, substation and generation metering applications. Key product features include an integral load profiling recorder, time of use registers and TransData’s patented concept of housing a dipole cellular network antenna inside the electric meter.
