TXU Energy launches prepaid electricity plan

Dallas, TX, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — June 20, 2011 – TXU Energy has launched a new prepay plan, TXU Energy FlexPower(SM), aimed at customers looking for a plan that does not require a deposit.
TXU Energy FlexPower(SM)is a pay as you go plan with no long-term contracts, no deposits, no late fees and no surprise high bills. The plan also features free alerts and notifications via text message or email notifying customers when their account balance is low and confirming payments.

“Texans told us they want more options when it comes to paying for electricity,” commented Dave Hennekes, vice president of residential markets for TXU Energy. “TXU Energy FlexPower(SM) is a great solution for customers who want the flexibility and control over when and how they pay for electricity.”

Customers are able to make account payments at any time online, by calling TXU Energy, or at thousands of authorized payment locations across the state. If a customer’s balance runs out, they can add more funds to the account and be reconnected in a couple of hours.

According to a statement from TXU Energy, FlexPower(SM) is competitively priced with other similar prepaid plans in the market.
