Wabash Valley Power chooses MDM implementation

Orlando, FL, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — June 4, 2010 – Indianapolis-based generation and transmission cooperative Wabash Valley Power Association (WVPA) has selected Siemens Energy and eMeter to implement the EnergyIP™ software platform and meter data management application.

The application will enable a single system capable of providing meter-to-cash and demand response across multiple customer information (CIS) and advanced metering (AMI) systems.

“Wabash Valley works with multiple distribution cooperatives located in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Missouri, each with different meter types and customer information systems. For this reason, we needed a flexible software platform with proven smart grid deployments,” said Andrew Horstman, manager of demand response at WVPA.

Siemens and eMeter will be licensing re-usable, standards-based adapters to each of the member CIS and AMI systems, eliminating the need for expensive point-to-point, one-off integrations.

“We are excited to add Wabash Valley to our list of multi-organizational customers that have deployed eMeter’s EnergyIP platform,” added Bobby Napiltonia, SVP sales and alliances at eMeter. “Wabash Valley and its distribution cooperatives are following a proven model for smart grid success.”
