Enel – Panasonic deal to accelerate consumer efficiency adoption

Italian multinational energy firm Enel has through its subsidiary Enel X signed an agreement with Japanese technology firm Panasonic to expand consumer on-site clean energy generation and the adoption of energy efficiency technologies.

The aim is to provide consumers with clean energy products at an affordable price.

Enel X will commercialise customer-tailored high-efficiency Panasonic photovoltaic panels.

The packages will include integrating the solar panels with up to 19 modules, a 25-year warranty and an additional 10-year insurance policy against natural events and breakdowns.

Panasonic will also train Enel X’s workforce on how to provide customers with the technical support during the various phases of solar panel installation.

Andrea Scognamiglio, Head of e-Home at Enel X, said: “This agreement demonstrates Enel X’s ongoing commitment to the development of innovative energy-efficiency solutions.

“Through our work with Panasonic, we can offer our customers technologically advanced services that enable us to consume energy intelligently while reducing our environmental impact.”

“This partnership is an important step for Panasonic, because it will allow us to make our panels better known in an extremely sensitive market like Italy, through such a well-developed sales network and great expertise”, commented Shigeki Komatsu, General Manager Panasonic Eco Solutions Europe.
