Dr. Faruqui is one of the world’s foremost authorities in dynamic pricing, customer choice and demand response. He has more than twenty-five years of expertise in the electricity industry, obtained through consulting and research engagements. He has provided strategic advice, quantitative economic analysis, management and staff training, and litigation support to clients throughout North America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. Before joining The Brattle Group, he was a vice president of CRA International. He previously held senior positions with the Electric Power Research Institute, Barakat & Chamberlin, and other consulting firms.
He is the recipient of a Regents Fellowship from the University of California, Davis and of a Gold Medal in Economics by the University of Karachi, Pakistan. He is a member of the American Economics Association and the Association of Energy Service Professionals. He has written numerous books and articles on energy economics, electricity pricing, demand forecasting and resource planning.
Dr. Faruqui received his Ph.D. in Economics and his M.A. in Agricultural Economics from the University of California, Davis and an undergraduate degree in Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics from the University of Karachi, Pakistan.
