Conference: Metering, Billing, CRM/CIS Australia and New Zealand 2005.
Location: Melbourne
Presenter: Tobie de Villiers
Abstract: The presentation aims to share some of the findings from testing over 3 500 meters covering 50 different models of meters.  These results are obtained from tests performed by Metrix and NGC over the last two years.  Accuracy results are grouped into electronic-, magnetic bearing-, and pivot and jewel meters and also grouped by year of manufacturing.

Comment is also made regarding the specific test points stated in AS/NZS 1284.13:2002 and whether additional higher load or lower load points are required.  A typical domestic profile is utilized to support the findings. The importance of having good quality information about your meter and the meter’s history is discussed and demonstrated how this information, together with meter reading data validation and faulty meter investigations, can help to extend the usable life of a population or part thereof.
