Nico Singh is the Prepayment Manager of Johannesburg Water (PTY) Ltd. He is also a member of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
Prior to graduating from the Tshwane University of Technology with a B: Tech Degree in Civil Engineering (Water) in 1999, Nico worked as an engineering technician in the field of Hydrology, at the time already in possession of a National Diploma in Civil
Engineering, for the Department of Water Affairs & Forestry since 1996.
After graduating with a B:Tech – Civil Engineering (Water), he worked as an engineering technologist delving further into the science of Hydrology and Hyrdaulics. Nico specialised in training engineers and technicians in the specialist field of hydrometry and
In 2002, Nico joined the Operations Department of Johannesburg Water (PTY) Ltd as Depot Manager. He was responsible for managing and improving the water and sanitation network in the Randburg/Diepsloort Region.
Thereafter, equipped with a qualification in Project Management from the University of Pretoria, Nico picked up valuable experience in the United Kingdom, where he was employed by Halcrow Group as a project engineer.
He was involved with projects that specialised in Water
Supply Services to Water Companies, Local Authorities and Government.
Hereafter, Nico returned to South Africa in 2004, where he currently holds the position of Prepayment Project Manager for Johannesburg Water (PTY) Ltd. One of his critical
roles is to project manage prepayment projects.
Nico is also responsible for the roll out, implementation, operation and maintenance of the prepayment systems commissioned
by JW and ensure the overall daily management of the Total Free Payment System. He currently holds and an advanced qualification in Project Management from the University
