Conference: Metering, Billing, CRM/CIS Australia and New Zealand 2005.
Location: Melbourne
Presenter: Chrissy Burrows
Abstract: This presentation for the Australian and New Zealand Annual Metering, Billing and CRM/CIS conference summarises the accuracy of metering data that is utilised in a competitive electricity market.  Viewing the work and findings done over the last two years it highlights how competing retailers, working together, can identify errors with a view to accountability, making it fairer for all parties. Over the last two year the majority NZ retailers by mutual agreement have been working through an analysis of historical purchase volumes.  These volumes compared readings from customer meters submitted into the market to that of their sales figures.  The presentation covers aspects of why it was agreed to undertake this project, how the team went about it and what it mean’s to the industry and competition.  This presentation complements other presentations in key areas of impact on industry processes, data management, retail competition and billing.
