Caribbean’s Aqualectra seeks electricity and water AMI system

The Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao is seeking to install an AMI system for its electricity and water meters

In the Caribbean, the island of Curaçao has issued a request for proposal for an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system.

Aqualectra, the Curaçao Water and Power Company, is seeking requests from experienced and specialized firms in AMI, and smart grid technologies and applications to provide an advanced electricity and water metering system.

Firms interested in submitting a proposal should email a Notice of Intent to Propose to the attention of AMI Project Group at

Such notice should contain the proposer’s name, address, phone number, e-mail address and contact person (firm’s representative in charge of Aqualectra’s AMI project).

After receiving your Notice of Intent to Propose, a copy of the Request For Proposal will be emailed to the proposer’s representative within one working day.

Deadline for the submission of the Notice of intent to Propose is October 9, 2015 20h00 GMT (16:00 Curaçao time).

Aqualectra’s metering base

Aqualectra is Curacao’s utility company responsible for the production and distribution of power and water as well as the delivery of accompanying services.

The company services approximately 69,000 households and companies through 130,000 electric and water meters.
