E.ON issues Czech Republic tender for 10K electricity meters

Czech Republic tender: E.ON’s procurement of 10,000 meters brings the utility in line with an European Commission directive that every energy household should have an individual meter

In Eastern Europe, the Czech subsidiary of multinational energy supplier E.ON has released a tender for 10,000 meters to cater for customers with different load profiles.

Tender deadline: 1 October, 2015

E.On is procuring the meters for a rollout in the Czech regions of South Bohemia and South Moravia in a contract valued at €3.95 million, excluding VAT.

The energy supplier is seeking 10,000 meters with the following load profile:

– 4,200 meters with 3 x 230/400 V 0.25-5 (100)

– 4,200 meters with 3 x 100 V, 0,025-5 (6)

– 2,100 meters with 3 x 58/100 V, 0,025-5 (6)

– 500 electricity meters with 3 x 58/100 V, 0.01-1 (2)

The contract also includes the supply of 21,000 communication modules.

Suppliers must demonstrate the deployment of 5,000 meters in the past three years that are compliant with EU standards.

Czech Republic tender – EC rules

In January 2014, the European Commission requested that the Czech Republic bring its national law in line with the EU Energy Services Directive (2006/32).

The regulation governs that member states have to ensure that final energy customers are provided with competitively priced individual meters that reflect their actual consumption.
