The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has issued a tender for the design of a smart grid project in the Indian state of Bilhar.The tender is open to US firms to design and implement a smart grid project for Indian power utility company India Power Corporation Limited (IPCL).
The project to be designed will include deployment of smart grid technologies to help IPCL reduce technical and non-technical power losses, as well as integrate power generated from renewable energy sources onto power transmission and distribution networks.
The tender includes the design of an integrated IT system to provide the utility firm with central operations of its grid assets.
