The UK Energy Minister has announced the re-appointment of Professor Len Waverman as a Non-Executive Director of the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (GEMA) for a second two-year term. UK regulator Ofgem’s newly appointed Managing Director – Corporate Affairs, Sarah Harrison, was also appointed to the Authority as an Executive Member.
The Electric Power Supply Association (EPSA) announced that John E. Shelk has been named president and CEO of the trade group, which represents competitive generators and marketers. Shelk, currently senior vice president, government affairs at the National Mining Association, will take up the position in mid-June.

Consolidated Edison Inc. has announced the appointment of Kevin Burke as President and Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 September 2005. He has been with Con Edison since 1973.
Milbank Manufacturing Company, producer of electrical meter sockets, has appointed Lavon R Winkler as Chief Operating Officer for the company. Winkler was previously President and COO of Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center.
Silver Spring Networks, developer of open, standards-based utility networking technology, has announced that Thomas R Kuhn and Corbin A McNeill, Jr. have joined the company’s board of directors. Kuhn is President of the Edison Electric Institute, and McNeill was Chairman and co-CEO of Exelon Corporation.
