The keynote address at the 2009 Metering, Billing/CIS America conference will be presented by Chris Bennett, the Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy, Policy and Business Process Improvement Officer of the FPL Group.
The FPL Group is the parent company of Florida Power & Light and FPL Energy, the largest generator of wind and solar power in the U.S. In his capacity, Mr. Bennett is responsible for FPL’s overall strategy and business improvement initiatives, including Six-Sigma, quality and global climate change, in addition to the company’s environmental and information technology functions. Mr. Bennett has more than twenty years experience in business development, M&A, operations, and sales in environments ranging from technology start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, private equity/venture capital investments, and turnarounds in North and South America, Europe, and Asia.
Prior to joining FPL Group, Mr. Bennett was a Partner and Practice Leader of the Life Sciences practice and the Telecommunications, Technology & Media practice of Dean & Company, a boutique strategy consulting and private equity firm located near Washington, DC. Earlier in his career, he was an Executive Manager of Corporate Business Development for GE, a Senior Engagement Manager for Mercer Management Consulting, and a Group Leader for new technology engineering and components production at Intel. Mr. Bennett is a graduate of Princeton University with a B.S.E. degree in Chemical Engineering and earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
