Jabalpur, India — (METERING.COM) — September 1, 2006 – The Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board’s Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum has solved the problems faced by 93% of electricity users who have brought complaints to the attention of the CGRF.
This forum was established in terms of the Electricity Act 2003. It operates by establishing hearings for consumers in various areas covered by the utility, and encouraging them to use the forum to have their concerns attended to. Matters such as delays in getting new connections, meter reading complaints, faulty meters and obstructions in the power supply can be raised and are dealt with as a matter of urgency.
The utility reports that the CGRF has been successful, both from the point of view of increased customer satisfaction and of making utility personnel aware of their responsibilities to the customers they serve.
