Copel posts disconnections schedule on internet for customers


Curitiba, Brazil — (METERING.COM)— January 7, 2009 – Brazilian utility Copel (Companhia Paranaense de Energia) has started posting its disconnection schedule on the internet for the benefit of customers.
The schedule covers works planned up to 15 days ahead and customers may search the schedule by municipality or down to the level of their own home. The schedule covers disconnections due to preventive maintenance, and strengthening and improvement of the network.

The objective of the initiative, according to the Copel’s distribution director, Ronald Ravedutti, is to improving the process of communicating with customers.

“We are putting at the reach of consumers quickly and efficiently, important information for their comfort and welfare,” Ravedutti explains. “Knowing in advance when and where Copel will cut supply will enable them to better plan their activities.”
