For the first time at Metering, Billing/CIS America, participants will enjoy a dedicated water track, which will be headed by David M. Hughes, a Senior Infrastructure Engineer from American Water.
Hughes’ experience with water systems dates back to 1973 with the West Chester Area (Water) Municipal Authority where he worked 11 years. He joined the Water Research Center (WRc) in 1990 and was involved in a diverse range of projects, including several AWWA research projects. His more recent water system experience from 1997 to 2000 was with Philadelphia Suburban Water Company (now Aqua America), the second largest private US water utility. In 2004 he was hired by American Water to serve as the Infrastructure Engineer, a newly created position in Innovation & Technology at the American Water Corporate Center in Voorhees, NJ.
At Metering, Billing/CIS America 2008 Hughes will discuss the use of AMR for distribution system leak detection, as well as chairing a series of sessions on the environmental impact of AMR for water utilities.
