Scheveningen, The Netherlands — (METERING.COM) — February 21, 2012 – The merging of the Electricity Networks Analysis, Research and Development (ENARD) initiative into the International Smart Grid Action Network (ISGAN) is on track for completion before the end of this month.
ISGAN, one of the initiatives under the Clean Energy Ministerial, represents a major new IEA Implementing Agreement to accelerate multilateral collaboration to advance the development and deployment of smart grid technologies, practices and systems.
The merge will result in the effective transfer of the ENARD knowledge and experience base into ISGAN. ISGAN will continue thereafter, as the single Implementing Agreement, responsible for smart grid and associated electricity system activities.
The IEA Implementing Agreements are intended to provide a forum for member countries to collaborate on research, development and deployment of energy technologies.
