Further AMR installations for water utilities in India

Hyderabad, India — (METERING.COM) — September 17, 2006 – The Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board plans to introduce automated meter reading devices to some of its water meters, to monitor water flow, volume, consumption and billing patterns in households.

The devices will be fitted to existing meters, in an effort to measure the difference between water usage and water actually charged for. HMWSSB Managing Director K. S. Jawahar Reddy says: “It ensures transparency of consumption and billing processes, prevents manipulation of data by field staff and helps to track revenue goals online.”
