Global investor continues to buy energy measurement companies

The Bayard Group, a global investor in energy measurement and efficiency technologies based in Sydney, Australia, has acquired Enermet Group Oy’s business from current owners Industri Kapital, Fortum Oyj and MB Funds. Enermet is a supplier of AMR and load management systems internationally, with headquarters in Finland.

This announcement follows the recent acquisition by Bayard of Hunt Technologies, a supplier of advanced metering technologies based in the US. Bayard bought Landis+Gyr (headquartered in Switzerland) in 2004, and acquired UK-based Ampy Email Metering shortly thereafter.

Enermet’s core AMR markets are expected to grow rapidly over the next five years. Bayard is committed to supporting the company in capturing a significant share of these markets, as well as gaining a strong presence in AMR markets emerging elsewhere, by using its global resources to accelerate Enermet’s growth.
