Broadsystem Ventures Ltd (BVL), which changed its name to News Optimus Ltd on 2 March, has become the first service provider to achieve Kitemark certification under the Ofcom Metering and Billing Systems Approval Scheme. The aim of the Ofcom scheme is to enhance end-user confidence in the accuracy of charges from communications providers by rigorously testing the systems and processes involved in generating charges and bills.
The award of the Kitemark licence, the world’s best-known product and service certification mark, underlines News Optimus’s commitment to quality. News Optimus was the first company to apply voluntarily to be vetted under the Ofcom scheme, and worked with the British Standards Institute (BSI) for over two years in order to pass their rigorous certification process. This accreditation confirms the expertise and commitment of News Optimus’s staff and the robustness of the company’s billing system and processes.
News Optimus Ltd operates one of the largest virtualised telecommunications services in the UK, and rates and bills hundreds of thousands of customers on a regular basis. The company’s solutions enable its partners to provide exceptional billing without having to acquire specialised expertise or infrastructure. With Geneva, its flexible billing system, News Optimus can provide accurate billing, stand alone or converged, for any measurable product or range of products.
