Marsa, Malta — (METERING.COM) — March 5, 2007 – The names of the suppliers that have submitted bids to enter into a strategic partnership with Enemalta and the Water Services Corporation to improve the utility’s processes and services have been announced.
They are Accenture, Atos Origin, IBM Global Services, LogicaCMG, Siemens, Soluziona, Tata Consultancy Services, and Televent Energia y Medio Ambient.
The original contract called for international companies to express their interest in a strategic partnership for the design, supply, implementation and operation of specified business processes and systems for both governmental and utility companies in Malta. These include a new billing process and the introduction of smart meters throughout the island for both electricity and water consumers.
The preferred supplier will be chosen after detailed proposals have been submitted to Enemalta; they are due to reach the utility by the end of March. Once the contract is awarded, it is expected to run for an initial period of five years.
