Several management and other changes have been announced at Colombian utility Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM).
An international growth division has been created, which will be headed by Gabriel Jaime Betancourt Mesa, up to now manager of EPM’s growth and international business. This new division combines the energy and water international business planning and new international business sub-divisions.
In the energy division in order to support the “Antioquia Illuminated” project a temporary rural electrification unit has been created attached to the energy transmission and distribution management office. In addition Inés Helena Vélez Pérez, formerly commercial sub-director of energy transmission and distribution – in which role she was also responsible for the development of EPM’s prepayment project – has been appointed manager of gas.
In the water division a new water business department has been created with sub-departments of water system operations, water infrastructure solutions and small and rural water populations, headed by Luz Stella Ángel Escobar.
Finally the external relations and environment division changes its name to the company responsibility division and includes a newly created community relations sub-division.
