Record attendance expected at Metering, Billing/CRM Africa 2007

Metering, Billing/CRM Africa 2007, which is part of African Utility Week, is expecting a record turnout of delegates in Cape Town, South Africa from 28 May – 1 June 2007. Last year some 1,200 delegates attended African Utility Week and registrations already streaming suggest that the numbers will exceed this at this year’s event.

African Utility Week is the largest metering, billing and customer service event in Africa, and includes Metering, Billing/CRM Africa and International and South African Prepayment Weeks, as well as other power sector events. A comprehensive exhibition, including a Power Lifestyle SMART LIVING EXPO, which will highlight the important issue of energy efficiency, will enable viewing of the latest technologies that are available for Africa in the international market.

In addition the event includes an international AMR workshop as well an advanced metering and infrastructure technical study tour, which will visit meter sites in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

African Utility Week, widely regarded within the industry as the blueprint for power planning in Africa, offers a unique training, networking and discussion platform and will demonstrate how utilities can be more efficient and offer cost effective services through improved infrastructure, load management, service delivery and revenue management choices.

“This event is the gateway for African utilities to see innovative metering and billing technologies to assist with their annual planning and tender requirements,” says Jonathan Spencer Jones, editor of Smart Energy International magazine, host publication of African Utility Week.
