SENTINEL meter gets AMI as Itron and Trilliant sign agreement

Spokane, WA, USA — (METERING.COM) — August 15, 2006 – Itron Inc. has today announced that it has entered into agreement with Trilliant Networks for the inclusion of its AMI technology in its existing SENTINEL meter product line.

Under the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) Distribution Agreement Itron will offer SENTINEL meters equipped with Trilliant CellReader (NCXR801, GSM/GPRS, NXGR801 CDMA/1xRTT, and NCiR801, iDEN) AMI.

“Itron and Trilliant are working together to ensure that utilities can easily acquire data from the SENTINEL meters using the existing MV-90 system and PC-PRO+ programming software, with flexibility of public cellular networks.

This agreement enables utilities to have a single point of contact for purchasing SENTINEL meters with factory installed wireless modem technology” explained Richard A. Coblens, Itron Solid State Business Development Manager.

He explained that Itron will be able to level the full value of advanced metering and communication capability offered by Trilliant, to support a wide variety of complex and challenging meter requirements.
