Spintelligent is pleased to announce that two very senior and highly regarded executives have been added to the program of the upcoming Smart Energy East Coast Conference. Robert Catell, Chairman of the New York State Smart Grid Consortium, and Robert Curry, Commissioner of the New York Public Service Commission, will be speaking as a key part of the conference. Mr. Catell is scheduled to participate in the closing panel session covering the changing landscape of the smart grid market, while Mr. Curry will be delivering the opening Keynote Address.
In addition to his role with the New York State Smart Grid Consortium, Mr. Catell is also the Chairman, Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center (AERTC) at New York State University at Stony Brook and is the former Chairman, U.S., National Grid and former Chairman and CEO, KeySpan Corporation. His career with Brooklyn Union (which later became Keyspan Energy) started in 1958. He became Chairman, National Grid, U.S., following the acquisition, by National Grid, of KeySpan Corporation.
Robert E. Curry, Jr. was appointed Commissioner of the New York State Public Service Commission on June 22, 2006. His term runs through February 1, 2012. A member of the Committee on Energy Resources and the Environment of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), he is also Vice-Chair of the Department of Energy/NARUC LNG Partnership. A career attorney, Mr. Curry has had extensive involvement with PURPA projects in renewable generation, both in hydro-electric and refuse-to-energy, and with the transportation of LNG and other petroleum products.
