Tim Roxey to head cybersecurity at the ES-ISAC

Tim Roxey, formerly director of Risk Assessment and Technology, has been promoted to chief cybersecurity officer of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s (NERC) Electricity Sector-Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ES-ISAC).

In this role Roxey leads the ES-ISAC team and manages all aspects of the ES-ISAC. He also serves as the point of contact for NERC stakeholders.

The appointment forms part of a strengthening of the ES-ISAC’s structure and information sharing capabilities to better address the ever changing threats to North America’s bulk power system.
The ES-ISAC team focuses on enabling sector-wide cybersecurity coordination, trust and engagement among participants, as well as rapid analysis and information sharing with the sector and its partners.

“Analysis and dissemination of timely information regarding security threats to the North American bulk power system is an essential role of NERC,” said Gerry Cauley, president and CEO at NERC. “This type of coordination and collaboration among the industry and key government partners is paramount to the continued success of the electric reliability organization.”

The ES-ISAC also is improving information sharing capabilities through different mechanisms, such as its website and through collaboration with other sectors and the Department of Homeland Security’s National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center.
