Over 20 high-level speakers from across the globe have confirmed to present at the World Meter Design Congress 2010, to give international insight into new design requirements for the utility metering industry. This event is the only meeting place for the world’s meter design engineers, system architects, R&D engineers and production professionals to gain insights into the new requirements and opportunities shaping the design and development of next-generation metering system.
The technical program includes specific focus areas on AMI and meter design requirements to enable international AMI rollouts; new systems architecture; utilities’ future requirements; the latest component technologies; design for the ‘smart customer’; HAN technologies and green appliances, and much more.
In 2010, the World Meter Design Congress is to be co-located with Metering, Billing/MDM America with a combined expected attendance of over 700. Our attendees will have the benefit of attending both, the Metering, Billing/MDM America keynote address as well as the internationally represented plenary address of the World Meter Design Congress, including Dr Philip E. Lewis, CEO and Founder of VaasaETT Global Energy Think Tank, David Hart, Senior Vice President of Product Development and Quality at Elster and Gab-Sub Kim, Chief Technology Officer at Nuri Telecom, Korea.
Other speakers who will address the development and challenges relating to “smart” meters include:
- Aaron Marcus, CEO and Founder, Aaron Marcus and Associates, CA
- Joshua Pennell, Founder, IOActive, WA
- Kevin Nolan, Vice President of Technology, GE Consumer and Industrial, KY
- Robert Dolin, Chief Technology Officer, Echelon, CA
Leading industry experts will furthermore look at designing meters for future AMI rollouts:
The role of wireless networks for AMI communication and the effect on smart meter design will be discussed by the following industry-elite speakers:
- Robert Gustin, National Program Manager – Utilities, Sprint Nextel, GA
- Dr Henry Jones, Chief Technology Officer, SmartSynch, MS
- Simon Pontin, Vice President of AMI Development, Itron, CA
SECOND WORLD METER DESIGN CONGRESS
R&D experts from 27 countries attended the second World Meter Design Congress in San Francisco, CA, last year, discussing the transformation that the metering industry is experiencing: The emergence of the smart grid, new communications technologies, new standards, the rise of advanced metering, increased meter data, energy efficiency, end-customer issues, new component solutions, globalization. All of these factors are shaping the way meter systems are architected, designed, styled, packaged and manufactured.
